This international co-production, shot at Barrandov Studios with international cast including Czech actors is an attempt to create a sci-fi fantasy in the tradition of Star Wars and Star Trek. Sometime in the distant future, several earthlings turn up on a strange planet ruled over by a despotic ruler with magic powers. A young earth-man initiates a successful uprising.

Set in rural South of Spain in the 19th century, tells the story of group of outlaws, from very different origins, trying to survive, hiding from the law enforcement officers in caves in a hilly area, and their struggle against the evil mining company that exploits the poor people of their home village.

Una joven y guapa norteamericana (Sue Lyon) se encuentra de turismo por España, en realidad una trotamundos que viaja en moto por la costa mediterránea. Una vez sin dinero intenta buscarse la vida y acepta la proposición de un joven (Christian Hay) de acostarse por cierta cantidad de dinero. Ella piensa que no resultará tan desagradable ya que el chico le gusta, lo que no sospecha es que este es sólo un sirviente que busca chicas para un multimillonario empresario del lugar que además es invidente (Fernando Rey). La chica hace de tripas corazón y mantiene relaciones con el ciego que acaba enamorándose de ella hasta el punto de proponerle matrimonio. En consenso con el sirviente, que a su vez mantiene relaciones con la ama de llaves (Gloria Grahame), la joven americana aceptará casarse para poder sacar todo el dinero posible. Las cosas terminarán por complicarse cuando estos personajes se ven abocados al asesinato.

Ruth and Michel separate after Ruth finds another man, Paul. Ruth and Paul go to her sunny, idyllic beach side villa to spend summer. They are having a great time together, and then things start happening. The brakes of the car fail, and Ruth narrowly escapes death. The driving equipment goes faulty, and Ruth almost drowns. Michel turns up at their doorstep for an uninvited social call, and Paul asks him in. Ruth suspects Michel of being the person behind the mechanical faults of the car and the diving equipment, but Paul dismisses such a possibility - but he does suggest it to Michel. Then, the heat does go up.
